Download your confirmation to give to your provider
After activating your benefit, download your confirmation letter right from this page. Tell your in-network provider you want to use your EAP benefits and give them the letter. It can help them submit your claim.

Frequently asked questions
What’s covered by this benefit?
Each set of no-cost counseling visits is good for one person, over one plan year, for one specific concern. When activating the benefit, you choose which concern to focus on, like anxiety, depression, relationships, or drug and alcohol issues. The counseling visits can be individual, family or group therapy for that concern.
This benefit doesn’t cover therapy visits over an hour, formal diagnostic assessments, medication or psychiatric visits. Talk to your provider if you have any questions about what mental health services may be best for you.
Is any information shared with my employer?
Nope. Your information is confidential. Your employer won’t know if you’ve activated the benefit, used any visits or what mental health concerns you may have.
Should I activate my benefit online or over the phone?
It’s easy to activate your benefit online. In some cases, an Emotional Wellbeing Specialist may be better equipped to help you activate your benefit or connect you to the right support. Call us if any of these apply to you:
- You’re in crisis and need urgent help
- You’re under the age of 18
- You’re seeking services for someone other than yourself
- You’re seeking medication
- You’re in a safety sensitive position (truck driver, pilot, etc.)
- You were referred by your manager or supervisor
What providers can I get no-cost counseling visits from?
In-network therapists and psychologists can accept your EAP benefits, but psychiatrists cannot. You can use our provider directory to find an in-network provider who has told us they accept EAP benefits. Simply filter for EAP services.
If you already have a provider, you can use the directory to check if they’re in-network. If your provider hasn’t accepted EAP benefits before, that’s OK. Give them your confirmation letter. It has instructions to help them submit your claim.
How do I search for mental health providers?
- Go to our provider directory and search by provider type, location or concerns like anxiety and depression.
- To filter your search by providers who agreed to accept EAP, select “EAP Services” in the filter options and check the box for “EAP Offered.”

How long do I have to use these visits?
Once you’ve activated your benefit, you have until the end of your plan year to use your counseling visits. Many employers’ plan years start January 1, but some vary. Check your confirmation letter for your specific end date.
After your plan year is over, you can activate the benefit again for a new series of visits.
Can I use this benefit for more than one concern?
The no-cost counseling benefit can only be active for one concern at a time. But if you’d like to use the benefit for a different concern, give us a call. An Emotional Wellbeing Specialist can assist you.
What do I do after I’ve used all my visits?
Even after you’ve used your no-cost visits, you can continue to see your therapist or mental health provider if you’d like. Talk to your provider’s office about how to bill any continuing visits. Or call the number on the back of your insurance card to learn what coverage you have as part of your behavioral health benefits.

Payment for provider services is subject to eligibility for employee assistance program (EAP) services at the time services are provided, benefit plan limitations, availability of remaining coverage, and any limitations imposed by regulatory requirements.
